HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting will give you the skills and knowledge required to respond to First Aid emergencies, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This is a first aid course for childcare workers, teachers and other people who work in an education or child care setting.

What does this course cover?

Who is this course for?

This course has been specifically designed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting i.e. teachers, child-care workers, family day care and support staff.

No previous experience or certification is required to complete this course.

Is there any pre-work or assessments?

There is no pre-work required, we cover everything you need to know in the face to face sessions. The course assessment requires practical demonstration of CPR on adult and infant manikins on the floor for a minimum of 2 minutes so you have the skills required to act, respond and deliver first aid for childcare, education and teaching settings

Considerations before enrolling?

The assessment for this CPR course includes performing CPR on an adult and baby manikin, on the floor for 2 minutes each. This can be quite physical. In attending one of our courses if you have any concerns or anything you would like to discuss please let one of us know so we can assist you prior to attending the course.

When will you receive your certification?

Your Statement of Attainment will be emailed within 24 hours after your successful completion of the training.

Renewing the course?

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an educational and care setting is valid for 3 years from the issue date on your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your certification every 3 years.
The CPR Certification included in this training (HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) expires 12 months from the issue date of your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your CPR certification every 12 months via our half day refresher course.
